Consistency That Builds Better Furniture
Reliable Particle Board for Modern Interiors
Particle board is the engineered wood panel behind most of the furniture around you — from wardrobes to office desks — valued for its consistency, smooth finish, and affordable price. As one of the reliable particle board brands in India, XyloSuisse brings the manufacturing discipline of its 60-year-old parent group, Xylonetics (Geneva, Switzerland), to every board that leaves our facility, so fabricators and dealers get the same quality, batch after batch
What is Particle Board?
Particle board is an engineered wood panel made by compressing small wood particles — wood chips, sawdust, and planer shavings left over from timber processing — with a synthetic resin binder, under heat and high pressure. The result is a flat, uniform panel with a smooth surface that’s ready for lamination, veneer, or paint finishes.
Because it’s made from wood waste rather than solid timber, particle board is lighter and more budget-friendly than plywood, while offering a denser, more even surface than natural wood. It cuts cleanly, holds screws and fittings reasonably well when handled correctly, and takes laminate or veneer finishes smoothly — which is why it’s the default core material for ready-to-assemble and modular furniture across India. It isn’t recommended for constant moisture exposure unless it’s an MR (moisture-resistant) grade board, so choosing the right grade for the application matters

Why Choose XyloSuisse for Particle Board Supplier ?
Quality control at every stage
From raw material selection to the final pressed board, our process follows the same quality discipline our parent company, Xylonetics, has applied across its global manufacturing network for six decades.
Consistency you can plan around
Fabricators and furniture units need boards that behave the same way every time — same thickness tolerance, same core density, same surface quality. That predictability is what we're built to deliver.
Pan-India supply and dealer network
Whether you're a modular furniture brand in Chennai, a distributor in the north, or an interior contractor anywhere in between, our supply chain is structured to get boards to you reliably, not just occasionally.
A team that understands the material
Our people carry deep, hands-on experience across particle board, MDF, and laminated panels — so when you call with a technical question, you get an answer from someone who actually knows wood panels, not a sales script.
Key Features
Designed for Better Finishes
Smooth Finish
Every XyloSuisse particle board is pressed and sanded to a consistently smooth surface, so laminate, veneer, or paint bonds evenly without visible imperfections. This isn't just a cosmetic detail — a poor surface finish is one of the most common causes of laminate peeling and uneven sheen down the line, so getting it right at the manufacturing stage saves fabricators rework later
Variety of Finishes
Beyond plain boards, we supply pre-laminated and decorative finish options in a range of colours, textures, and wood-grain patterns to suit different furniture and interior styles. Whether a client wants a matte solid colour for a minimal office fit-out or a realistic wood-grain finish for residential wardrobes, our range is built to give fabricators fewer compromises and faster sourcing
Applications

Modular Furniture
Wardrobes, beds, modular units where a stable, paintable/ laminatable core is more important than raw structural strength

Kitchen & Storage Cabinets
Carcasses and shelving where the board will be laminated for moisture and wear resistance

Shelving Storage Units
Bookshelves, display units, and retail fixtures that need a smooth, even surface

Office & Commercial Furniture
Desks, workstations, and partitions produced at scale for corporate fit-outs

Commercial Interior Fit-outs
Wall panelling, false-ceiling backing, and decorative panels in hospitality and retail spaces
Particle Board vs Plywood vs MDF
Each engineered wood panel has a different structure, and that structure decides where it performs best. Here’s a quick side-by-side :
| Parameter | Particle Board | Plywood | MDF |
|---|---|---|---|
| Made from | Wood chips + sawdust, resin-bonded | Thin wood veneers layered and glued | Fine wood fibres, resin-bonded |
| Surface | Smooth, uniform | Slightly uneven, grainy | Very smooth, ultra-uniform |
| Strength/Load-bearing | Moderate | High | Moderate to high |
| Screw/fitting holding | Fair (edge screws need care) | Good | Good with proper fixtures |
| Moisture resistance | Low (unless MR grade) | Higher (esp. marine/BWR grade) | Low (unless MR grade) |
| Cost | Most economical | Higher | Mid-range |
| Best suited for | RTA/modular furniture, cabinets, budget interiors | Structural furniture, load-bearing units, wet areas | Detailed carving, painted finishes, cabinet doors |

Frequently Asked Questions
Neither is universally "better" — they suit different jobs. Particle board is smoother, more economical, and ideal for modular furniture, cabinets, and laminated surfaces. Plywood is stronger and more moisture-resistant, making it better suited for structural furniture and wet-area applications. The right choice depends on the application, budget, and moisture exposure.
Particle board pricing varies based on thickness, grade (plain vs pre-laminated vs MR/moisture-resistant), and the brand's quality standards, and it also shifts with raw material and resin costs over time. For an accurate, current plain particle board price and thickness-wise quotation, it's best to get in touch with our sales team directly
Standard particle board is not waterproof and isn't recommended for continuous moisture exposure, as it can swell or lose structural integrity if it absorbs water. MR (moisture-resistant) grade particle board offers improved resistance for humid environments like kitchens, but for areas with direct water contact, a BWR-grade plywood is usually the safer choice.
